Review:

I’m a big fan of bibs. and I know I’m not alone. The 686 Men’s Frontier shell bib intrigued me since it has a full zip from chest to crotch, something that I have had issues with other bibs, when nature calls it’s difficult to go… This bib solves that problem!

This bib has a great fit that’s more of a straight leg fit (not baggy or tight), has ample storage with 2 hip velcro pockets, 2 chest velcro pockets, and has a key ring so you can make sure your keys are safe (another small feature that I’m passionate about!). The 10K  infiDRY® is great for most conditions unless you are in very wet snow.

I found you are able to layer for the coldest of days to warm park days with ease in these bibs. 686 has done a great job with providing 3 different colorblock designs that are very tasteful and will be appreciated by most riders. They fit true to size and the mesh lined leg vents are great at dumping heat on the chairlift ride back up to the park on sunny days.

Overall Impressions:

The 686 Frontier shell bib is for the rider that prefers bibs over pants, wants a good amount of pockets to store snacks, your wallet, keys, and your phone while riding the resort or in the side/backcountry. The frontier bib has a great fit that allows you to move easily, and layering for cold days works well. It’s a great choice at a good price for a mens snow bib that will take you through the entire season.

Pros:

  • Comfortable
  • Can be worn all season long, in most conditions
  • Fit (not baggy but not tight)
  • Ample storage
  • Key ring (love that this is included, other bibs overlook this small but important feature!)
  • Adjustability

Cons:

  • None
