Review
I’m a true mitten lover, but in some cases I want something a little different and the 686 Hawkeye trigger mitten hits the mark. I’ve used these mittens from 10 to 40 degrees (fahrenheit), and they are some of the most comfortable and warm trigger mittens I’ve ever worn.

I appreciate the design of the wrist tether, which can be easily removed if you don’t like it. The sizing is accurate, and they can be worn under your jacket cuff. I’m usually not a fan of mittens with finger separation, however these have won me over. With the trigger finger option you’ll also have a lot more dexterity if you want to use your phone on the lift to “swipe.”

The black camo color is very muted, you can hardly tell it’s camo unless you are really looking closely at the mitten. The velcro cuff doesn’t always close securely for me, however it might be my jacket interfering with it. Since these mittens are only 10K waterproof, I wouldn’t wear them in very heavy wet snow conditions as your hands will get wet, I’d look to a Gore-Tex or higher waterproof level mitten or glove. Otherwise, these trigger mittens grip great, you’ll have no problem reaching down and holding your board when you’re tweaking out that grab in the air!
Overall Impressions
The 686 Hawkeye trigger mitten is a great choice for those riders who want a little more dexterity or just want something a little different than a standard mitten. These mittens are waterproof enough for most winter days, as long as it’s not wet heavy snow. A great option for colder days. I would highly recommend these trigger mittens for winter riding!
