686 Mountain MittMountain Mitt performance and review:

I’ve been a big fan of 686 because their gear holds up really well to heavy usage.  I’ve owned several pairs of their pants, and have some of my family in them as well.  I picked up a set of the 686 Mountain Mitts mostly because the price was right.  They have been a pleasant surprise, and have held up really well.  The Mountain Mitt is a mid-weight, under-mitten with velcro wrist closures to keep the snow and cold air out.  686 has these rated at 10 on the Infidry scale, and they have done a great job of keeping my hands dry.  They have a thermal rating of 5, which is rated from 15 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. We had some pretty cold days here in Wyoming in December/January, and there were several days I had to use a liner to keep my hands warm.  The liner in these mittens is very soft and very comfortable on your hands and fingers, and has stayed that way even with extensive use.  Overall, these ended up being a great mitten for the price: very durable, warm and comfortable.
