Review:

So you want a one-piece, eh? Let’s take a look at the Airblaster Beast Suit. I’ve worn the beast suit on powder days and warmer spring days and it’s great for keeping snow out and it provides a bit more warmth than the Freedom suit. Even with the waffle wick you’ll still need to layer up on cold days as it’s a fairly thin piece. I have been using a medium beast suit and I wear a knee brace, knee pad and impact shorts most days. The airblaster beast suit in a medium fits well with all of my protective gear underneath it and with everything removed (except the knee brace) it was a nice relaxed fit.

The beast suit has two water repellent front thigh pockets, a water repellent chest pocket, two zip pockets at the waist and one right zip back pocket. Not a bad amount of storage for a one-piece. You also have inner thigh and under arm pit zip vents to dump heat. Speaking of dumping… the 350° waist zip is super easy to use when you have to go. The fabric of the beast suit is articulated stretch fabric which is very comfortable, lightweight and fairly durable. I felt really comfortable in the beast suit and riding pow in it was really fun, I felt like a technician ready to take on any condition! The look of the one-piece may not be for everyone, and the price is around $450. Remember in this price range you are getting a jacket and pant combo with great waterproofing and breathability so take that into consideration. If you are looking for a one-piece that will take you through colder pow days and into wet spring slush days this is a good option, it may get a little warm in the spring but the vents provide good relief. I really like the beast suit and think it looks awesome, great features and functionality that you’d expect from Airblaster.

Pros:

  • Comfortable, Lightweight and true to size
  • Rad Look
  • Excellent Waterproofing/Breathability
  • Ample Storage
  • Easy access panel to release the beast when nature calls

Cons:

  • none
