After using One Ball Jay, Swix, Bluebird and several other snowboard wax for years I was ready to test out something new, BAF (Bitch Ass Fast) Wax Formula 421 had some unique characteristics with being a rub on and hot wax brand. Having the option to use this as a quick rub on wax is great, no more using or carrying two different kinds of wax in the kit! I hot waxed my Never Summer Warlock and used the rub on wax on the Loaded Algernon to see how the wax performed. The temperatures I rode in ranged from 10 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit and I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the rub on wax on the Loaded Algernon, it held on for several runs, other rub on waxes required me to apply more wax after each run. BAF WAX works well as a rub on wax, and provides a fast glide in all conditions I tested from Pow, groomers, and hardpack. I was really impressed with how much one application of the rub on wax lasted throughout the day in varied conditions and temperature changes.
The BAF WAX hot wax application turned out to be just as effective, I normally wax my board(s) after three days of use, and the Formula 421 has held up well so far. The hot wax application has a sweet smell so it’s quite pleasant (coconut, and I bet these guys will create even more unique scents in the future!) to get your wax on! Just as the rub on application performed, the hot wax application performance is top notch, it glides as fast if not faster than my favorite (Bluebird Bryan Iguchi All Temp), the Formula 421 hot wax treatment is fast and holds up to all snow conditions from pow to hardpack.
BAF WAX Formula 421 comes in a 4 oz brick or a “5 buck Puck” BAF also provided us with some pretty unique wax molds (check out the gallery). The price of BAF WAX is comparable to other big name brands, if not slightly less expensive, and this racing wax is definitely worth it and environmentally friendly to boot, I recommend trying it for both rub on or hot waxing in most temperature conditions, give it a shot!

I try to keep my families boards waxed and as fast as possible. We mostly ride at Grand Targhee Resort. Grand Targhee is known for crazy amounts of pow, which can make for some slow traversing back to the base area. So having a fast board is essential unless your a big fan of skating. Like Chris, I’ve used several different wax brands over the years…been really disappointed in some and happy with others. I used the BAF (Bitch Ass Fast) Wax Formula 421 as a hot wax on my sons board and my Never Summer Proto Type Two. I was really impressed with how easily it went on and like Chris said…it smells amazing! We tested the wax over several weeks to ensure we put it through as many conditions as possible…hard pack, pow, groomers and park features. It was a really cold month in Idaho/Wyoming, we normally rode single digits to -20 and the wax performed really well in those frigid temps. My son is 11 and often struggles on long traverses due to his weight, so he was super stoked to make the traverses with ease with the BAF Wax. I found the wax to be really fast in all conditions and held up exceptionally well. If you want or need to go Bitch Ass Fast…head over to BAF’s recently redesigned website and get some great wax at a killer price.
