Bones WheelsDave’s Review

54mm

Intended Use: Smooth streets, parks, and bowls
Recommended for: Rolling fast and maximum control
Review Date and Location: October – December 2016, Idaho

I put the Bones Eighty Ones on my popsicle deck from Red Rum. These wheels are in the Skate Park Formula (SPF) line up, but are fairly soft compared to others in that line. The softer wheel gives you more traction and control. I really like that they are hard enough to keep speed up, but forgiving on hard landings. You can still get them to break loose if you want to slide, but it will take a bit more effort.  The streets around my house are pretty rough, so they are a bit hard still for rolling around the neighborhood. I do like the control they provide on slick bowls and masonite. They have held up really well as I’ve come to expect from Bones Wheels: no flat spots and even wear.  Bones Eighty Ones are available in 54, 56, and 58mm, and only in white.

Intended Use: Street-oriented for skateparks, bowls and smooth surfaces
Recommended for:  Those who want to roll fast and still have some extra control and grip…

bones eighty one b wheelsFrom riding bowls to street sections in your local park these wheels really grip well. Softer than Bones Chris skateboarding on the Bones 81b wheels at Arvada skateparkSPF Clears, the Bones Eighty Ones will slide with a little bit of extra effort. The Eighty One B formula does feel much softer, and just might take the seasoned skater back to a time they remember from their youth; you’re going to like the grippy feel. I’ve been using my 58mm Eighty One Bs for two months, and they have held up well with no flatspotting; once again, Bones has created a solid wheel that has grip, a great feel, and keeps it’s speed. As I transition into riding indoor ramps, I’m keeping the Eighty Ones on, as they have given me that extra hold I’m looking for on indoor surfaces. The Bones Clear SPFs were fine; these Eighty Ones just provide a little extra grip.
