Review:
Bones (Powell & Peralta) have been making wheels for really long time. They have a large line up of wheels based on sizes, hardness and specific riding requirements. The Staab II’s are in the SPF (Skatepark Formula) line up. SPF wheels are made from high quality urethane intended to resist flatspotting but still hard enough to maintain speeds needed in parks. These wheels really provided great grip in tight corners but I was still able to break loose when I wanted to slide. Bones has a pretty boastful claim that these wheels are almost impossible to flat spot. I’ve been riding these for about 5 months and have not had a flat spot yet. I’ve ridden them in the street a few times and about rattled my teeth out. If your a big street skater you probably want to look at their STF’s (Street Tech Formula). These wheels have held up really well compared to cheaper wheels I’ve had. They are a bit on the steep side price wise but you should get plenty of use out of them. Pop a set of Bronson Speed Co bearings in them and you’ll be set for quite a while.
Pros
- Fast
- Durable
- Great grip in tight spots
Cons
- Price – a little on the steep side
