Mitten Details:
The Celtek U Tube Mitten is minimalistic with a neoprene Poly Urethane treated palm designed for warmer conditions like spring and summer snowboarding. The U Tube mitten is great for those of us with warm hands that don’t need the bulk of a traditional mitten but want the flexibility and movement provided with a mitten, rather than a glove, in spring and summer conditions.

Review:
Spring riding can change throughout the day, and when the days are warm, my hands tend to sweat, which leads to smelly mittens. My go to alternative was always a spring pipe glove, I don’t mind pipe gloves, but I’ve always wanted a spring mitten and I could never find any that I liked, until now!
The Celtek U Tube mitten is a great alternative on those days when it’s warm and you don’t want to wear your winter mitten, the U Tube provides the flexibility of a mitten with a thin layer of protection and waterproofing. This thin neoprene mitten has a waterproof PU (Poly Urethane) palm and has been in Celtek’s line up for a few years. It has undergone some changes, including adding a velcro wrist closure, rather than a slip on closure. The U Tube mittens are lightweight and easily packable into your backpack, gear bag or in a pocket, you’ll barely know they’re there and will come in “handy” when the temperatures on the mountain warm up and you don’t want to have stinky sweaty hands form your winter gloves.
These minimalistic mittens provide just enough protection from the elements to keep your hands dry and comfortable in warm spring and
Celtek offers several colors and sizes (from XS to XL) in the U Tube mitten and I would highly recommend adding this to your gear bag if you are going to ride well into the summer months.
Pros:
- Fits a need for a spring/summer mitten
- lightweight
- Comfortable
- waterproof palm keeps your hands dry
- Fits as described (Medium worked perfect for me)
- drys quickly
- cost is ok ($34 retail)
Cons:
- In higher temps, your hands will sweat in these (expected)
