Dakine Wrist GuardsReview:

Dave: One of the most common injuries in snowboarding and skateboarding is a sprained/broken wrist.  I’ve had countless wrist injuries over the years but have been fortunate to have never broken one.  I’ve been trying to push myself in the park the past few winters and have taken quite a beating.  This past season I picked up a set of the Dakine Wrist Guards for a little more protection.  They are low profile so they do fit under most gloves and mitts but it does make them quite snug.  The Dakine Wrist Guards have the standard hard plastic protector on the wrist/palm but nothing on the back.  The neoprene sleeve makes for a snug fit, combined with the velcro cinch, the wrist guard stays in place.  The wrist guards more than anything gave me the confidence and reassurance to try things I normally would not be comfortable with for fear of injury.  The times I did fall, the wrist guards did their job and have held up to a seasons worth of use.

Chris: After a wrist sprain over a year ago, I chose to use Dakine wrist guards for skateboarding and snowboarding, they are a lower profile which fits ok underneath a glove or mitten, still pretty tight, and are very lightweight.  I’ve found when I need a little extra protection these work out well for snowboarding and also I use them while skateboarding as well.  For the price, Dakine wrist guards provide a good amount of protection all year-round from snowboarding and skateboarding for me.

Summary:
The Dakine Wrist Guards offered ample protection for a really nice price point.  If you’re pushing yourself to learn a new trick or maybe it’s been a while since you’be been out, pick up a set and save yourself from a trip to the doctor.
