Review:

Giro has the bases covered with this minimalistic lightweight helmet, with MIPS. The Ledge is built for park riding, and can realistically be used for any type of riding. It’s extremely lightweight and at a $90 price point it is a great option for an entry level helmet that provides good protection from impacts to the head.

This skate inspired helmet will keep you looking good while riding with enough ventilation so you don’t fog up your goggles, Giro’s stack ventilation system also allows ample airflow at the front of the helmet to reduce fogging up your goggles too. The EPS foam liner allows this helmet to be ultra-lightweight, and stripped down (I always take out the audio ear pad) you really won’t feel it on your head. The fit system is also minimalistic and stays secure with the elastic strap cradling your head.

This helmet also incorporates MIPS spherical technology, which reduces rotational energy during certain impacts which will give you more confidence you’re protected if you ever have to put it to the test while riding park.

I’ve tried the GIRO Ledge MIPS helmet with a few different goggle options (Shred and GIRO) and the fit is good, when paired with GIRO goggles (I am using the Contour Goggle and Contour RS) I have a seamless fit that is very comfortable and doesn’t let cold air seep in where you don’t want it.

Overall Impressions:

The Ledge is a great option if you’re looking for an inexpensive, lightweight, and minimalistic park style helmet. This helmet has good ventilation and works seamlessly with GIRO Goggles and other brand goggles as well.
