The MTN Crew Gloves performance and review:

The MTN Crew wasn’t on my radar for gloves, however, I thought it had an appealing look and the waterproof, windproof and breathability features made it a strong contender for a solid winter snowboarding glove. I’ve been able to test this glove through several different riding and weather conditions over the last few months, and it has handled them all amazingly well. I’m very impressed with this glove for it’s great dexterity right away, moisture wicking ability, and it’s warmth for most winter days around 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

There was no break in time for this glove, it was easy to flex my hand without restriction, and the liner stays put when pulling these gloves off, something I’ve had major issues with in other manufacturers gloves. The reinforced section between the index finger and thumb will help you hold your grabs and also protect your gloves from your edges when grabbing so you can get more life out of these gloves in the long run. The neoprene cuff is easy to adjust and fits easily under your jacket and stays closed.

As you’d expect from a winter glove the MTN Crew has a slight amount of insulation, mainly on the back of the glove. The Downtek on the back and the Megaloft on the palm keeps your hands warm, and still allows you to have great feeling through your fingers and palm. The liner and insert is good too, my hands run warm and it wicks moisture away and keeps my hands dry which I’m very happy with. The insert is also waterproof and windproof. Riding in cold and powdery conditions really put these gloves to the test in Colorado these last few months, the MTN Crew kept me warm and dry every time.

Over the last few years the workwear look with black and leather has been used everywhere, the MTN Crew is tastefully put together with synthetic leather and cowhide. While cowhide is less expensive than other leather, it’s very durable, looks great, it’s comfortable, and is very easy to care for. Gordini’s put in the research to design some of the top winter gloves and the MTN Crew is, in my opinion, a great glove for most of your winter riding days. Check out the MNT Crew, it might be your next glove!

Overall impressions:

The MTN Crew is a great option for your go to glove for December through early March. This glove feels good on your hands right away, has a durable synthetic leather palm and cowhide shell. The MTN Crew has a solid minimalistic workwear style and is in the standard price range for gloves in this category. I’d recommend this glove if you’re looking for a winter glove that will last you at least the entire season and maybe more.

Pros:

  • Fits true to size
  • work wear look is trendy right now
  • Excellent waterproof and windproof option
  • feels broken in immediately
  • Great warmth for most winter conditions from 20 degrees to upper 30’s

Cons:

  • These are at most a 2 season glove, depending on usage.
