Review
KÜHL® was born in Utah, taking its roots in the snowy winters of the Wasatch Mountains. An independent company, solely based on making a great product to satisfy their customers, they make some pretty “cool” outdoor products for men and women.
After a large portion of us worked from home during the height of the pandemic, I’m sure a lot of people enjoyed lounge pants or anything more comfortable than traditional work slacks and even jeans. Many of us spent more time outside with so many of the indoor things we were accustomed to being shut down. My wife and I hike, bike, snowboard, etc as much as we can on a regular basis, but the pandemic seemed to encourage outdoor activities for many more. We both work indoors in office environments and find it a double bonus when we can find clothing that doubles for work back in the office and our adventures outdoors. These pants filled both needs perfectly.
Finding pants that will endure your outdoor activities yet maintain all the freedom of movement can be very challenging. The KÜHL Destroyr pant is built with ergonomics, the comfort of a lounge pant, and the elements in mind. The first thing you will notice about the Destroyr pant is the comfort level is top-notch and you just might forget you are wearing pants. The 4-way mechanical stretch and ergonomic design allow you freedom of movement without bunching or pinching. The Free Ryde Waist sits very nicely on your hips and is very comfortable even after long wear times. The Born Free Gusseted Crotch and Articulated knees make bending, climbing, squatting, etc easy as the pants move with you, not against you. I wore the Destroyr pants hiking, biking, camping, and even split boarding and they did not disappoint. The pants have a DWR finish which makes these pants extremely versatile. A bonus, especially if you are using these pants in conditions where you might experience moisture or wind is that the bottom hem cuff closure allows you to cinch down the leg opening with ankle elastic drawcords.
The fabric (92% Nylon, 8% Spandex) is very comfortable against your skin. As great as these pants are for outdoor use, they look nice enough to wear just about anywhere. When our offices opened back up, I found this as my go-to pants on workdays as well. They are incredibly comfortable and easy to dress up and look presentable and then head back outdoors as soon as it was quitting time.
The Destroyr pant is loaded with storage. All your precious belongings will stay safe in the 6 reverse coil zippered pockets including a 3D Stealth and cell phone pocket. I had plenty of space for keys, chapstick, phone, and more. It was definitely a plus on these pants to have the zippered pockets as I never worried about losing anything while climbing around in the wilderness.
Overall Impressions
The Destroyr pant is a great option for spring laps, rainy hikes, or even wearing to the office. These pants are good for whatever activity you engage in and are incredibly versatile.
I was excited to try these pants and was incredibly impressed with the overall fit, material, and ergonomic design and the way they will continue to hold up to the elements and consistent wear. These are definitely pants that you will want to get into.
