If the Cubs were built like the Never Summer Hooligan the curse might be over. Never Summer has been making longboards for a while now. They’ve really done a nice job of incorporating some of their snowboard technology into their longboards. Never Summer incorporates high end materials into their boards: fiberglass, carbon-fiber, p-tex and complex wood laminate construction. The Hooligan we tested was complete with Paris Trucks and NSA Drift wheels.
- ‘W’ Concave – really locks your feet on the board and is surprisingly comfortable.
- P-tex tip and tail – makes the board just that much more durable.
- American Made
- Symmetrical Shape
- 3/8″ Rocker
- 3/4″ Drop-Down and Drop-Thru

- Full features and construction details
The Hooligan is rock solid, we expected more flex but its very rigid due to the construction. It’s still very responsive when tucking turns and speed checking. The only thing we didn’t like was the double drop, you really have to watch your feet placement or you risk wheel bite from your heel or toe, but thats also just personal preference.
The deck carries the standard 3 year warranty from Never Summer and it’s all USA made in Denver, Colorado.
The Hooligan is a fun, medium sized longboard thats great for cross training. Longboarding is one of the closest ways you can replicate a snowboard carve. The Hooligan comes with a great price tag for such high quality construction.
