I rode the same board for years and years when my kids were really little. Once I really started riding a lot again, I reached out to Chris for advice on boards. He told me to check out Never Summer and raved about their boards. I always bought middle of the road boards…not a beginner board but not an expensive board. I took the plunge and bought a 2009 Never Summer SL and was ashamed of myself for waiting that long to buy a good board. Last year I upgraded to a 2013 Never Summer Proto HDX. The HDX is a wider version of the HD for the bigger rider.
Some features that I love about this board;
- Extended rocker camber profile
- Harmonic dampers
- Carbonium top sheep

The Proto is really an all around great board, great in pow, the harmonic dampers really keep the chatter down when you’re haulin’ ass. But yet it’s still poppy enough to hit the park with my kids and show all those young punks that #oldguysriptoo!
