Review:

Nitro has been creating some really interesting shapes in their line for several years. This homage to their Mountain snowboard (the mountain snowboard is specifically designed by legendary board shaper Thomas Delago) with some groovy updates and graphics on the topsheet and base by team rider Griffin Siebert make it a really fun board to look at.

Don’t underestimate this peaceful looking board it will rip it up on demand! I found the Mountain X Grif to be very fast edge to edge and hold turns very well, whether you’re drawing out a eurocarve or maneuvering through tight trees the Grif will initiate the turn when, and where, you want it to. It’s smooth and playful all over the mountain.
With a flower graphic on the base I had to take it through Peace Park at Copper Mountain, and this board is really fun in the park as well. It has good pop and locks into 50-50s with ease on rails. There may be other boards I’d primarily ride park with, but this will be a fun ride if you’re rippin around the entire mountain and taking an occasional park lap, enjoying some side hits, and cat track hits as well.

The base is fast and durable, I hit a few rocks in the early season and didn’t see any noticeable damage, besides some scrapes on the first layer of wax. The Mountain X Grif is set back slightly and the mild rocker in the nose and tail make it float really well in pow, it’s a comfortable and confident ride. This board will plow through choppy snow as well, a great addition to your arsenal of all mountain boards for the advanced rider.

Overall Impressions:

The Mountain X Grif is geared toward the advanced rider that wants a directional classic shape snowboard that will be playful all over the mountain. It has a really fun groovy minimalistic graphic that is sure to keep the good times and vibes flowing all day and if that’s what you’re looking for this is your board
