Overview from Shred: Shred Bumper NoShock is a low profile snowboard hard shell helmet. It features Shred’s patent pending RES, a rotational energy management technology that mimics the natural cushioning behavior of the fluid between the skull and the brain. This is the simplest, lightest, and thinnest solution to dissipate oblique forces from any direction. Combined with Slytech’s NoShock technology, a patent pending EPP honeycomb cone structured foam integrated within the impact recovery EPP core of the helmet, the two systems provide an unparalleled synergy against linear and multi-directional forces to the head during impact. It is built to withstand tree lines in the backcountry, and harsh slams in the terrain park, while providing optimal air flow. It features a soft comfort liner with Aegis Microbe Shielding for anti-bacterial and anti-odor action, and our Perfect Fit Finder system to provide the best customized fit. Removable goggle buckle, ear and neck pads.

Review:
I’ve worn this helmet snowboarding most of the 2107-2018 season. Most helmets I’ve worn have either been too large for my head or need constant adjustment on the hill, even when following their given specification chart and measurements. I usually wear a beanie under my helmet and also go back and forth with wearing my goggles under and over my helmet depending on the day and conditions. I usually prefer the lightest of helmets available providing multiple impact protection and the best available protection and technology for your skull and brain. This can get you up there in pricing, but it’s worth it to me as I feel most riders agree with.
The bumper noshock has a very slim fit, my 54cm measurements fit snuggly into the Medium so if you are between sizes and wear a beanie under your helmet I recommend going up to the next size, that said, this helmet is comfortable, stays put, looks awesome and is easily adjustable. I removed the ear padding for most of the season and it still kept me warm, I do wear a beanie, or a balaclava, under my helmet most days and in the springtime I opt for a neck tube that can go over my head slightly for breathability. The bumper noshock helmet has worked well with all of these accessories under the helmet. I’ve taken a few tumbles in the park and in the sidecountry with this on and it’s done its job well. I wear my goggles over this helmet (not under) I’ve found that it was more comfortable with my goggles over the bumper noshock helmet, I’ve tried wearing my Shred Simplify goggles and Spy Goggles underneath the helmet and I prefer the comfort and adjustability with
Overall I’ve really enjoyed wearing this helmet, it’s configurable to fit most head sizes, you can easily remove or add back in the ear padding or other padding in the helmet to customize it for your own fit and style. The bumper noshock provides good protection for your brain on impacts which is most important if you’re looking for a standard style, lightweight helmet I highly recommend the Bumper Noshock.
