Review:

If you’ve ever fallen snowboarding on a rail in the park , or even on hardpack snow or ice, you might consider these low profile protective shorts from Slytech to provide some extra protection and cushioning where it counts. After having several bumps and bruises over the years from falling hard on rails, jumps or anywhere really,  I knew it was time to look into some impact shorts for some added protection and help shorten the recovery time from bad falls.

I’ve been skeptical about impact shorts due to the cumbersome bulky size and lack of breathability in most brands I looked at. I didn’t want to have to buy a snowboard pant a size larger to accommodate my protective shorts, so I was quite pleased when I came across Slytech’s protective shorts for snow sports. These nylon protective shorts are not bulky and are highly breathable with Slytech’s 2nd Skin XT foam and NOSHOCK honeycomb structure they move with you when you ride and when you fall they harden to provide protection where it counts. I wear these protective shorts every time I ride now, and they have saved me from several falls on rails over the last 4 months and will continue to for years to come. They will provide good protection from most falls, I’ve still had some discomfort from the hardest bails but without these shorts on it would have been much worse. These protective shorts are easy to wash, you can simply remove the foam pads and wash the nylon liner when needed. If you’re looking for impact/protective shorts that are minimalistic and stay put, I would recommend giving Slytech’s protective NOSHOCK shorts a try.
