Review:
I’ve been using the Thirty Two Muir Pant for most of the season, I’ve put in over 30 days wearing them, in just about every condition. I was a little concerned that I’d be cold in them as they are a Level 1 pant with minimal insulation. Even on some of our coldest days at Grand Targhee Resort I was comfortable and warm. I usually just wear a base layer and thin shorts underneath, during some of the warmer temperatures recently I’ve just worn shorts underneath. The 10k waterproofing and breathability in Muir function as you’d expect and kept me dry. I used the thigh vents during the warm temps and during hikes, they were easy to zip up and down even with mitts. The Muir is a regular fit so I found them to be a little tight in the thighs but I also prefer a relaxed fit. The waist is easily adjustable with the Waist Cinch System. Being an entry level pant I was also worried they wouldn’t hold up, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised, they still look brand new and could easily go another season. There are 4 standard pockets for ample storage, two front pockets with zippers and a key loop and two back pockets that are secured with velcro. One other benefit of the pant having minimal insulation is they pack down well for traveling.
The Thirty Two Muir pant is a great pant with an entry level price. The Muir pant was only an 8k breathability/waterproofing last season the added waterproofing and breathability make this a very functional pant.
