Review:

Never stopping the pursuit of rider driven outerwear, the Bronson Jacket from Thirtytwo delivers. The Bronson jacket incorporates a sherpa lined hood with rugged twill on the outside and Thirtytwo’s classic orange paneled light insulation (40GM body and 40GM sleeves)on the inside where it counts.

The Bronson is a timeless jacket that you’ll be able to wear for many seasons. The Bronson is in Thirtytwo’s mid fit collection which gives you a bit of room to layer and a little extra length so you can

keep your butt warm on those chilly chairlift rides up the mountain. I found this jacket to be really comfortable on most days, with insulation it’s a bit on the heavier side, but it’s built to take on most of the elements while you’re riding. The YKK zippers are extremely durable and easy to zip, full length pit zips to dump heat when you need to, and you’ve got ample storage! Two large hip (zip) pockets and 2 (button and velcro) chest pockets and an internal media storage pocket or whatever you’d like to keep out of the elements. It does come with a pass pocket on the left sleeve, but I never use that. Overall great storage options for a jacket in the $200 range.

This 10K/10K breathability/waterproofing is good for most conditions in Colorado and most other drier climates. If you’re in the Pacific Northwest you may want to look for another jacket that can handle the rain and wet snow, otherwise this jacket looks and performs great for most winter days. With light insulation on the Bronson, I would recommend using a different jacket during warmer days, as it will get really toasty once you’re over 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I appreciate that this jacket does not have wrist gatters, that’s a personal choice but I felt it was a good choice for the riding I do, thanks Thirtytwo!

If you’re looking for a jacket you can wear and layer a little, on the coldest days, or not at all on most days with a workwear inspired look the Bronson Jacket from Thirtytwo will do a great job as your winter workhorse. Once spring arrives transition over to a shell or a hoody to finish out the season.
