Review:
I’ve been on the fence about bibs for snowboarding for awhile, so better late than never I decided to give them a try. I was looking for a 10K to15K waterproof/breathability bib that should be good for most conditions here in Colorado from sunny park days to powder days. The Volcom Roan Bib Overall seemed to fit this category very well.
The adjustable elastic suspenders are easy to manipulate for a comfortable fit. I prefer to have the suspenders a bit loose and they haven’t slipped off my shoulders. The relaxed modern fit isn’t baggy, and it allows for layering and fits well over my knee brace without being too tight and restricting movement around my knee, overall I really like this fit from Volcom. The chest pocket is large enough that you can carry your wallet, phone, or other larger items in it. The front pockets are deep and zip easily, and the rear pockets both have zippers and velcro which is a big plus in my book. I’ve taken a few really good falls in these bibs and just as I expected I didn’t get snow down my pants!
There are a few features that could be improved upon for a bib in this price range, I will point out neither of these would sway me from purchasing the Roan Bib, these are more of a nice to have. Most pants/bibs in this price range have boot gussets and the Roan Bibs do not, that’s ok though as they are wide enough to fit over most boots easily. I also would have liked to have an attached key clip in one of the front zip pockets. The Volcom Roan Bibs fit really well and I’m a fan, and I’m looking forward to riding these in some deep powder days soon.
Pros
- Elastic Suspenders are easily adjusted to your desired fit
- Fit is true to sizing, comfortable bib, modern relaxed fit with a straight leg works well.

- Good storage capabilities
- Good Price Point for a 15K Bib/pant
Cons
- Functional Fly could be a tad bit longer for easier access…
- Boot Gusset w/Snap should be included in this pant
- no attached key clip in front pocket
