KÜHL® was born in Utah, taking its roots in the snowy winters of the Wasatch Mountains. An independent company solely based on making a great product to satisfy their customers, they make some pretty “cool” outdoor products for men and women.
I had been interested in doing more day hikes this spring and summer, and I wanted a more technical pant that would protect me from the elements and also provide some UPF protection. The KÜHL Silencr hit most of the marks right off the bat! These outdoor activity pants, I’m calling them that since they can be worn anywhere even out to dinner or to the office, if you have to go to one. The Silencr has ample storage for your phone, small items, and they are deep enough that you’ll know they won’t fall out during your activities.
The lightweight ripstop fabric with 4 way stretch attributes in this pant will keep you happy all day, or night long, they move naturally with each stride and are some of the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. There are some great technical details like the super soft micro chamois waistband, it’s very comfortable and is a nice touch.
I’ve worn these pants hiking and during other outdoor activities over the past several months in conditions from 40 degrees to 90 degrees, in humid and arid climates (deep forest to the desert) and I can attest they are perfect for warmer weather outdoor activities and will keep you dry with their DWR coating. They are a great option for light to moderate hikes, fishing, golfing, camping, and wearing around town. KUHL offers several different colorways so you’ll have the option to add one or several of these pants to your wardrobe.
Overall Impressions
The Silencr is a great option for any warm weather outdoor activity and can easily fit in an office environment if needed. I would recommend this pant for anyone looking for a summer/fall outdoor pant for light to moderate activities but it can go further if you want, it’s a great outdoor pant with lots of storage!
